Laurie E. Graeb-Lechner

Former Matittuck resident Laurie E. Graeb-Lechner of Holtsville died June 21 in Port Jefferson. She was 57.

She was born Dec. 7, 1956, in Mineola to Robert and Phylis Graeb and graduated from Mattituck High School in 1975. She married Kenneth C. Lechner April 18, 2004, in Mattituck.

Ms. Graeb-Lechner worked as a secretary for Southampton Hospital. She was a member of East End Lions and Mattituck Presbyterian Church. Family members said she loved spending time with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She also loved traveling and cruising, reading, shopping and stock car racing.

She was predeceased by her parents and is survived by her husband, Kenneth of Holtsville; her stepchildren, Danielle (Joshua) and Kenneth Jr.; her brothers, John (Diane) and Thomas (Diane); her sister, Pamela (Gene) Doroski; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carmella and David Lechner; her grandchildren, Nicholas, Jake and Isabella Mannick; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors Friday, June 27, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A funeral service will take place Saturday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at Mattituck Presbyterian Church. Cremation will be private.
