Elizabeth Charles of Southold and India died Jan. 19 at Southampton Hospital. She was 81.She was born in India May 10, 1939, and became a court clerk there. She enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting and the beach.
Ms. Charles is survived by her daughters, Daisy Clasing of Southold and Shanthi, of Sri Lanka; her sons, Arul and Henry, both of India; her sisters Esther, Ann and Pauline; and seven grandchildren.
Costner-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue assisted the family with a private cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
